Ok, first I need to now how you configured the power management on RVOSD.
Were the TX and cam. Vcc rails set to 12 or 5V?
Also need to know if the video output was connected to the Tx when you made the wrong conection.
you connected the current sensor lead with ground reversed also?

Ugh, this is the worst case scenario. Please check if with everything connected properly you still have 5V on the cam and tx vcc rails.

the video output was connected to the tx and no mistake on the servo connection just put the current sensor cable on video in thinking it was the camera i'm connecting the camera was not connected she works fine also the tx just my rvosd fail now

i haven't voltmetre but i test to power my tx with the video in and out + and - and it works so i guess i have 5v out of video in and out

Are you sure your camera an Tx are working, and also that you have 5V on their rails on the OSD?

my cam kx131 is out of order but not due to the osd i plug my videocamera recorder (sony handycam) to the tx and thats way i'm sure my tx works i just put + and - of the tx to + and - of the video in and out and my tx light on so i suppose there is 5v

Nevermind, I am looking at the OSD schematics. This is a catastrophic failure, because the 5V rail also supply very sensitive parts. You need to email Vova. Do you live in the USA?

Hi Alex,
not to steal this thread - but I did exactly the same stupid mistake: I swapped current sensor and camera wires on RVOSD v1. Camera voltage was set to 5v. :(
Are you guys offering a repair service? Can I buy a replacement board? Should I email Vova about it?
After flying with RVOSD I can't live without one now :o

Nope, but we plan to sell all OSD parts separatly. And some kind of disccount for returning customers. Unfortunatly in your case, a repair will need the change of 5-6 IC, and I dont know if shipping back and forth to france will worth it. Do you have access to anyone with SMD soldering equipment and//or skills?

I am guessing here, because I can not talk for Vova, but there is always the chance to send it back for repair, unless the board has to much physical damage, wich I think is not the case.

Hm, how about setting up a repair service in Europe? I do have the equipment to do all the test and replace SMD chips, but I don't know if it's worth the trouble. If manufacturing of the PCB is cheap enough, I'd prefer an industrial soldered new part than a repair... Any thoughts on that? And yes, I live in Europe...

This is an easy mistake to make. I'm being extreemly careful to not do this, especially after knowing it's guaranteed smoke:eek:.
One idea to help prevent it would be to put a short extension lead(s) on the video connectors and NEVER remove them from the OSD. Then you only have to remember your video plugs into the extensions. A second benefit is most extension leads are polarized so you can only plug your power in one way.
