I use the RVOSD without the FMA sensors. All works fine, but I got the artificial horizon flashing on the display in the lowerleft corner of the screen. How can I get rid of that? Thanks.

Post a video please

Thanks for the fast reply. Here is a video I recorded today with the RVOSD V 2.01: Link (http://stoeckli.net/forumimages/VIDEO020.wmv).

You said the FMA sensors are not conected, but do you have a cable or something on the FMA conectors? Ill take a look at the code so I can see why this is happening, please post pics of your menu settings, so I can reproduce the same conditions and do tests.

I also have the same problem occasionally. When I power on my plane, I see the artificial horizon flashing exactly like that on net-climber's video. It starts flashing on the ground, even before I take off. Switching power off and on usually get rids of it, so it is not much of a problem. I do not have anything connected to the FMA connectors (yet).

OK, I just had an idea. Could this be caused if the switch allocated to the AUX channel is left in the down position? I could not reproduce it on the ground (although the horizon flashes once when I switch from the center to the down position) but I'll try it in-flight later this week.

Ok you just gave me the possible cause, yes I think thats the problem. I had no chance to look at the code that handle that. But I will do as soon as I start work on the next patch.

I tested the RVOSD with the aux switch in down position and centered and found this to have no effect on the flashing. I got the FMA sensors by now and if they work I'm not concerned about this effect any longer...

I am trying to find the cause and fix it in the next patch anyways.

For some reason when my transmitter got too close to my RVOSD it did the same thing.. I don't even use the FMA..

Ok, In this case it is because the way the OSD detects the FMA presence is by looking on to the FMA inputs, if voltage is detected then FMA heads are set as present. Transmitter close to the OSD cause strong RFI fields to break in to the inputs, that confuse the OSD microcontroller.
