Today I did a flight with my easy glider and recorded a maximum speed of 150 mph  I am pretty sure i did not fly that fast though it was windy out. does RVOSD calculate speed as instantaneous between 2 gps data points or is it done as an average over the last 1 second of flight or something similar? Could it be made to detect a bad data point and maybe throw it out? maybe you could create a filter band where the instantaneous velocity can't exceed +/- 20% of the previous average velocity taken over the last second?

I suppose maybe I could have flown 150mph, but it just doesn't seem possible.

RVOSD does not do calculation of speed, this is take from the GPS directly. Just a simple conversion to mph because GPS send speed in km/h. It depends on your setting on the "Units" menu.

Maybe the problem is because you have bad GPS reception, how many "bars" do you see in the video?

OK I understand, didn't know that. My reception was pretty good today, hdop 1.03 when I set home. I really didn't pay attention to the bars during flight.

Do you know the speed ladder its at your left, and the altitude ladder its at your right? :D

btw, the problem with scrolling OSD overlay was fixed?

Hi Alex,
The OSD was perfect, it did not scroll at all for this flight. However, It did happen once while testing earlier this week. It was quite windy yesterday when I flew, I have trouble paying attention to the OSD when flying in wind. Yes I did know about the speed ladder on the left, but it took a couple flights to figure out which was which :)

I think that OSD scrolling was video signal breaks from camera. Make sure your cabling and connectors to camera are ok.

when i finished a flight with the rvosd it gives me max
airspeed, max alitude, max distance out. there is always four and i forget the last one. then the system will not go to the f16 mode or anyother mode until the osd is rebooted. then its ready to go again
very cool.

The maximum values display will go out as soon as your amperes indicator go more than 3A, also if speed goes over 10 km/h(6miles/h) and altitude goes to more than 20 mts (65 feets). You dont need to restart the OSD
