Powering up Question:
the objective:
-Start up, acquire satellites , configure, without losing flight time
-Achieve more precise power consumption measurement.(count all usage, not only motor(s))
-reduce heat in 900Mhz 500mw video transmitter during the ground-time (it's a really hot device, would like to see a new version of it)
The method:
I plan to add a secondary power connector on the *output* side of the current sensor.
This connector is protected with a diode against reverse current flow.
1.- connect a 7.4-8.2 volt battery (Li-Po or Ni-Mh) to the second current connector.
2.- let GPS lock, and current sensor will calibrate/zero at actually 0mA current
3.- the video transmitter will not get very hot - but should be somewhat operating.
4.- before flight, connect main battery, (and remove the previous one)
5.- now, all power consumption is measured, even Video TX, RVOSD and RX
the *QUESTIONS*
1. RVOSD would boot up at 8.2volts, then raise to 11.x volts, would this confuse low-battery warning that's set to around 10volt ?
2. Is there any other logic you can think of that would get confused by this ?
3.- I would like to save sensor calibration after zeroing it at no current, and thus make it display ALL current in the future, - can you add such feature in future firmware ? - please consider it a feature request.
Thanks for a great product.
