HK What is the minimum i need connected to test the connection. I assumed just the the Usb to PC and a power supply to the GS.

It's easy to get going. Make sure you install google earth first.
1- plug in usb cable (with rvgs working) and let computer find software automaticaly.
2- set to usb com port and 115kbs for speed and push connect.
    couldn't be any harder.

I've made it that far and had one flight with it recording. The altitude seems to be off for me. Before I took off the alt was reading 03615 feet. At my max height it read 18045. My actual altitude max as 4,000 feet. I'm not sure what is wrong there.

How do you export the google earth info from HK to the google earth app? I see my flight path fine in HK but I want to see it using the google earth app.

yppart, have you looked in the device manager under ports to see if it shows up there? Mine was listed as com5. I changed the com port on HK to 5, hit connect and it worked fine.

Frankly, I've never heard anyone complain about my software being too difficult to use. I wrote it to be as simple as selecting your com port and hitting connect. What is the power requirement to get data flowing? I have no clue. I don't have a device yet so all of my effort has been from a log file Alex gave me.

Pretty sure its not a software problem. I had it checked by our IT guy today. I was hoping Alex might have responded but I'm sure he is a busy boy right now. I presume Alex uses the usb port to program the card but it appears to be dead when i connect to any pc. Alex!
