Our IT guy at work phoned Future Technology at their headquarters in Glasgow which ironically is only down the road a couple of hours from me. Between them they decided there chip had lost its power input for whatever reason. PMd Vova and he is sorting me out. Thanks again.

I am running a neat little Asus EEEPc netbook and am having problems, as I cant change the com port assignment from Comport 3.
It runs XP Home Edition SP3
When I get to the Com port properties screen there is no tab for Port Settings, so I cannot change the assignment.
It appears Microsoft didnt consider this as necessary for a netbook.
Is there any way to get the HK app to run on port 3?
    Cheers
    Frank

I use the same netbook. With GS plugged in i just open the com port drop box in HK and select com3. Seems a bit easy for you to not of tried already. Start HK after you plug the GS in.

I had issues with mine when I first hooked it up, and right enough it was the cable. Made my own up and it's now right as rain.

    What part was faulty?

I consider myself quite computer literate, And My RVGS is also faulty.
Ive tried 5 computers and 3 different running systems, 8 USB cables and there is no connection with the Ground station period.
Id say this would be the same issue as yours yppart.
    Regards

    Pete
