You can find what you need here: http://www.microchip.com/stellent/id...cName=en023805
Actually the CD is useless since you have to download he newer pickit2 program anyways.
The CD only comes when you buy the OSD and the pickit2, because it only contains the PC program to make it work. You use the pickit2 when you need to update the OSD(newer firmware available). However the software that comes with the CD is obsolote and you have to download the newer version anyways.
This is explained here: http://rangevideo.com/forum/showthread.php?t=814
All the OSD documentation its online, and you can find it here: http://rangevideo.com/forum/showthread.php?t=381
And I also got pickit Gen4 and I also didn't received any CD and I didn't miss it at all: what's the difference if you run installation from CD or from downloaded file? I've got only one idea: the downloaded file is newer... If you don't have internet connection, you don't need CD, because, you are not able to download new firmware. If you can download firmware, you can also download newest pickit drivers... So what's the problem?
I've updated firmware twice, it always went smooth. So just check out if your computer is up-to date (especially your NET framework installation), it's not a fault of RangeVideo! Pickit also is not RangeVideo product, they only use this interface to program their chips... Maybe a better description of what was in that bunch of windows will help more...
The problem is not your RVOSD or your Picket, the problem is your computer. It sounds to me like your computer has several problems, not the least of which right now your having trouble getting on the internet. I have my own computer business, I do tons of remote desktop support, maybe we can arrange a time for me to remote into your computer and give you an hand.
